Tiaki Wai is the new organisation that will deliver water services in Lower Hutt, Porirua, Upper Hutt, and Wellington cities from 1 July 2026.
Water Services Strategy feedback
Over 1,150 people took the time to provide feedback, both completing an online survey and writing comments.
The feedback showed that people rated drinking water quality; clear and consistent pricing and billing; and infrastructure maintenance as the most important priorities for the region.

Coming Up
There’s still a lot to do to get all the details in place for a smooth transition to Tiaki Wai on 1 July 2026.
Before the end of June, the final Water Services Strategy will be published, including confirmed water services charges for the 2026/27 financial year.
