As WCC continues to progress with early engagement on local government amalgamation below are the latest updates.
Public forums will be held on 29 and 30 July 2026, providing an opportunity for people to speak directly to their representatives about amalgamation, either online or in person at the WCC Head Office, 2 Harris Street, Central Wellington.
Registrations are open now, and information about the forums, including how to register to speak, is available on the Amalgamation Public Forums page.
