The Planning & Environment working Group is currently working on the following issues:

1. Submissions on the proposed WCC district plan changes including the proposal to make parts of Thorndon a “Heritage Area”;

2. Seeking information on the proposed new Royal Society Building on the corner of Murphy and Turnball Streets and proposals for the disposal or use of the Kimi Ora School site on Turnball Street.

3. Investigating the possibility of moving power and telephone lines underground.

4. Whether there is sufficient support to reopen the debate about the Thorndon access bridge to the Westpac Stadium.
