Us
The TRA is an incorporated society which was established in 2008 by a
group of concerned citizens who saw the need for an active and effective
body to communicate residents’ collective views to local authorities
and other similar bodies (including about improvements to Thorndon’s
community facilities, town planning issues and traffic and parking
concerns).
Objectives
The
TRA’s objects (as stated in its Rules)
are:

To
improve amenities and facilities in Thorndon for Thorndon residents;

To
encourage a sense of community within Thorndon;
-
To
provide an information service about Thorndon;
-
To
represent and communicate the majority views of Thorndon residents
about matters affecting Thorndon
to any local authority, Government Department or similar body;

To
co-operate with any other Associations, groups, bodies, local or
civic authorities having the same objects, including The Thorndon
Society and the Thorndon Trust.
Membership
& Subscriptions
Any
person, household, body or organisation living, owning property, or
operating a business, in Thorndon (including tenants and landlords of
properties situated in Thorndon) is eligible for membership of the TRA.

The
subscription fee is set annually at a general meeting of the TRA.
The subscription fee for the year to 31 March 2010 is $10 per
household. This fee can be paid by sending a cheque to the TRA’s
Secretary at the above address or by internet banking.
